Nature’ s Legacy: A Company True to Its Name

It would seem that there really is truth in the saying, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”.
One company has been able to capitalize on discarded twigs and branches and turned it into a lucrative business. Nature's Legacy is a Cebu based furniture and garden accessories company that specializes in stone casting.True to its commitment to the environment, Nature’s Legacy makes use of five different materials to create their home furnishing items. Their pioneer material innovation is Stonecast which are made from natural crushed stone and is dry-stamped into a mold which simulates how the earth makes limestone. My favorite would be  NuCast which is made of recycled newspapers and Naturescast which is made out of natural scrap materials like dead shrubs, fallen twigs and other agro-forest waste. Both of them have main components that are sustainable, biodegradable, recyclable and environment-friendly, makes use of a proprietary odorless water-based binder and has no VOCs (Volatile Organic Compound).
This is upcycling to the exponential power!

During production of these materials, there would still be left over bits and pieces. From these scraps, they gave birth to Floreia, the fashion arm of Nature’s Legacy. Eco friendly and sustainable handmade accessories that are created by chosen communities in Cebu City.  Recyling already recycled materials, it’s genius!

In an interview with ANC Green Living, Pete Delantar, CEO of Nature’s Legacy,  mentioned that they ensure that their workers are well taken care of. They provide their employees with living facilities close to the factory/office which I think is terrific. Not only does it boosts the workers morale and hence their productivity, but it also minimizes carbon footprint since they don’t have to travel far.

Nature’s Legacy is truly an excellent green company that not only provides beautiful furnishings but they are forward thinking. They understand the 3P’s---People, Profit, Planet. Definitely a business worth patronizing. Find out more about them on their website
